Your calls

Every inbound call, including the ones you pick up yourself. Your phone bill or call log has this number.

Not sure? PATLive's pricing page equates 50 minutes to about 20 calls, which is 2.5 minutes each.

Which calls should it answer?
It must

We only count an integration when the vendor's own page names it.

Illinois and about a dozen other states generally require everyone on a call to consent to recording (Justia's 50-state survey). Not legal advice.

More options

Only matters for plans billed by unique callers (Goodcall). 0% counts every call as a new caller, the most expensive case. Your call log shows how many numbers call more than once a month.

Starting values are examples, not averages. The math runs in your browser; we log only the numbers you enter, never who you are (privacy).

  • Allo Not verified

Allo lists the AI Receptionist at $32 a month per agent, billed yearly, on top of a paid Allo plan, but publishes no call or minute limits and no monthly-billing price for it, so a cost at your volume can't be computed.

  • Housecall Pro CSR AI Not verified

Housecall Pro does not publish a price for CSR AI on its pricing page or on the CSR AI page.

  • CallRail Voice Assist Not verified

CallRail's pricing page says Voice Assist 'Starts at $95/month*', but its footnotes disagree on the included amount (50 vs 55 Voice Assist calls over 15 seconds) and add Lead Tracking 'starting at an additional $55' while the plan list shows Lead Tracking at $50 a month.

  • AnswerConnect Not verified

AnswerConnect's full pricing sits behind a registration form ('Register now to unlock full pricing details'). Its homepage shows plans from $350 a month for 200 minutes but gives extra-minute rates only as a $1.85-$2.50 range, without saying which rate applies to which plan.

How the cost grows with your call volume

Each line is one vendor's cheapest plan at each volume, for the four lowest-cost options above. Steps appear where a vendor's plan runs out and overage or a bigger plan kicks in. A gap means the vendor doesn't publish a price for that volume.

Why sticker prices mislead

A plan's headline price only covers the usage it includes. What you actually pay depends on which unit the vendor counts and what it charges past the plan. Five units are in use today:

Questions owners ask

Why are AI receptionist prices so hard to compare?

Vendors count usage in different units: minutes, answered calls, conversations, unique callers, or a flat rate. A $49 plan can cost more than a $99 plan once your volume passes what the cheaper plan includes. CallMath converts your call volume into each vendor's unit and applies that plan's own overage rule, so the monthly totals are comparable.

How does CallMath calculate the monthly cost?

Plan price, plus any required subscription (Quo's Sona needs a Quo phone plan), plus your usage above the included amount times the vendor's published overage rate. For each vendor we pick the cheapest plan that meets what you asked for, then rank vendors by that cost. Every result shows its formula. The methodology has the details.

What if a vendor doesn't publish an overage rate?

We never guess. If your usage goes past the plan and the rate isn't published, the result says "contact vendor" and shows the lowest possible cost. As of Sep 23, 2026 that applies to Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist, Rosie, Ruby.

Is an AI receptionist cheaper than a human answering service?

At published prices, usually by a wide margin. For the example of 100 calls a month at 2.5 minutes each (250 minutes), the lowest AI option is SkipCalls at $19.99 a month, while the best published human plans are PATLive $448.50 and Ruby $1,725 a month. Human receptionists handle judgment calls that AI may not, so compare what your callers need, not just price.

Do I have to tell callers the call is recorded?

In Illinois and roughly a dozen other states, recording a phone call generally requires the consent of everyone on it. See Justia's 50-state survey and the Illinois statute, 720 ILCS 5/14-2. Some vendors say they record every call (for example PATLive, NextPhone and Quo's Sona). This is general information, not legal advice.

How current are these prices?

Every price shows the date we read it on the vendor's own site; the whole table was checked on Sep 23, 2026. We re-check each vendor at least once a month with a script that flags changed prices, then confirm changes by hand before updating.

Does CallMath get paid by the vendors?

Not today. Vendor links pass through a redirect that counts clicks, and they are marked sponsored because we may join affiliate programs later. If we do, the disclosure page will list them, and commissions will never change the order: ranking uses only computed cost and fit.

Why isn't a vendor I know listed?

We add vendors whose prices a small business can find on the vendor's own site. Four vendors are listed but not ranked because their pricing is unpublished or unclear. Ringlatch, the founder's own paused product, is left out to avoid a conflict of interest. Suggest a vendor.
